Michel Meyer

Before becoming responsible for the development of geothermal energy for the GIS, Michel Meyer was director of the soil and waste geology service (GESDEC) of the Canton of Geneva and geologist cantonal, where he was in charge of the application of the legal bases in the themes of hydrology, polluted sites, gravel pits and landfills, natural hazards, soil protection and Waste Management.

Since September 2011: Head of geothermal development at SIG:
Organization and development of activities. Implementation of the cantonal GEothermies program(www.geothermies.ch).

2007 – 2011 : Director of the geology, soil and waste service (GESDEC) of the Canton of Geneva and cantonal geologist:
In charge of the application of the legal bases in the fields of hydrogeology, polluted sites, gravel pits and landfills, natural hazards, soil protection and waste management.

2001 – 2007 : Geologist at the cantonal geology service of the Canton of Geneva

2000 : Thesis on the geology of the Geneva basin
