Full Professor, Laboratory of Human-Environmental Relations in Urban Systems Claudia R. Binder, a Swiss, Canadian and Colombian citizen, graduated from ETH Zurich in biochemistry and then completed a doctorate in environmental sciences. She also holds the La Mobilière Chair in urban ecology and sustainable living. His research focuses on the analysis, modeling and evaluation of the transition of urban systems towards sustainability. His research focuses on sustainable food, energy, lifestyles and transportation in urban systems. At EPFL, Claudia Binder is the academic director of Design Together, an interdisciplinary teaching initiative. She was appointed head of the EPFL energy and sustainable development strategy working group in 2019.

Since 2020, Claudia Binder has participated in the Transition Workshop as dean of ENAC-EPFL as well as as a guest expert.
